Martin Pas selects the best of modular synth systems, modules and DIY kits in the eurorack format.
Modular Synthesizers consists of an array of separated modules organised by functions. The most common format for modular synths is eurorack which is the standard for dimensions and signal level of each module.
Modules are usually fitted in a case, which is usually internally powered providing power to all modules. Each module once mounted is not hardwired with the others but connected by patch cables leading on how the instrument or the patch is conceived. This means the architecture of one’s synthesiser can always evolve by adding new modules or by patching each function to the desired needs.
